History of the "Novopecherski Lipki" District

Novopecherski Lipki have been considered a prestigious district since the 19th century: back then, it was inhabited by capital aristocrats, wealthy individuals, and officials. Today, not much has changed - the residential complex continues to lead in the real estate sphere, and its residents are confident and ambitious people who value their time.

How did Lipki get their name?

It is known that at the beginning of the 18th century, the territory of modern Lipki was planted with lime and mulberry groves, while the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra cultivated vineyards in this area. Hence, the name of the elite Kyiv district originated.

Beginning of construction

However, the vineyards and lime alleys existed for a short time. Already at the end of the 20th years of the same century, a period of active construction of the district began, namely its Palace part, now known as Lipki. The author of the project was the architect Andriy Melensky, who tried to connect it with the Khreshchatyk Valley.

Therefore, by the order of the then Governor-General Vasyl Levashov, plantings within the district were cut down, and stone one- to two-story houses of the so-called mansion-manor type began to "grow" in their place.

New buildings, executed in the style of classicism, were inhabited exclusively by the local higher administration. But at the end of the 19th century, the character of the homeowners changed somewhat – mansions of representatives of the industrial class began to be erected alongside the houses of aristocrats. Along with this, changes also affected the architecture of the houses - the classical style smoothly transitioned into eclecticism.

Novopecherski Lipki today: general characteristics and advantages

As of today, Novopecherski Lipki is an elite residential complex occupying an area of 25 hectares and located in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. The concept of the premium residential complex is a "city within a city". To satisfy all their desires, residents do not necessarily need to leave the neighborhood. Everything is available on its territory without exaggeration: from dining establishments and fashionable boutiques to gyms and SPA salons.

The main advantage of the residential complex is its convenient transportation solution, which combines the central thoroughfares: the boulevards of Friendship of Peoples and Lesi Ukrainki, Kikvidze Street, and the Railway Highway. Therefore, getting to any part of the city by car won't take much time. In case of traffic jams, the metro will come to the rescue: the nearest Zvirynetska station is located a 10-minute walk from the residential complex.

Which famous personalities are associated with Lipki

The residents themselves contributed to the special popularity of Lipki. In the past, the family of the Gansky landlords lived here, and the writer Honore de Balzac was a frequent guest at their estate. In addition, on the territory of the residential complex stood the estate of the commandant of the Kyiv Arsenal, Ivanov, who later became occupied by Hetman Skoropadsky.

Living in Lipki today means not being surprised by chance encounters with singers like Zlata Ognevich or Irina Bilyk. The family of the artist Monatik and the TV presenter Hryhoriy Reshetnik are also happy owners of luxurious apartments in this area.
